Although many people swear by these products, and they do work for
awhile, it should be understood that they are just a temporary
surface coating and will quickly wear off. They are really just a
palliative, and will make the job of prepping the surface for the
paint-job that is certainly in your future that much harder.
I painted mine with the Krylon three or four years ago and it still
looks perfect, without the need to apply anything.
