You wouldn't think it works without destroying the surrounding
aluminum,but I've heated the stud remains with a torch, hit the air,
and blew out most of the stud without harming the head.
However, my first choice would be to drill out the stud large enough to
use an " e-z out" then heat the area with a Mape gas torch (hotter than
propane), then install and try to remove with the e-z out.
