The dread washer-bucket rivnut thing hasn't come up on the list for
awhile, so it is a good time for a reminder:
If you are removing these bolts for the first time, it is a very good
idea to spray a lot of penetrating oil up there before you even try
to loosen them. Given the consequences of failure, I recommend
spraying repeatedly for several days before proceeding. Once they've
been off, you are unlikely to have problems in the future, but you
only get one shot at a first removal, so take it easy.
If this advice is too late for you, I wonder if maybe some kind of in-
line pump installed upstream (like under the dash) might be an
alternative. Just a thought....
