Well after making my first post and all of your very helpful suggestions, John Hervey phoned and asked me to send him some pictures of my water pump. As many of you suggested John thought that the alignment of the water pump pulley was not right. After looking at the photos John said that I had a Volvo pulley and that a Volvo pully would create an alignment condition in my D. Well I went out and bought Toby's Volvo pulley. Looing at them side by side, the Volvo pulleys diameter is smaller, thus giving me almost no play room after locking down the alternator. After mounting and measuring the Volvo pulley was a little more than 1/4 too close to the engine. That was my alignment problem. Well thanks again to John for helping me diagnose the problem and thanks to Toby for making this pulley that fit perfectly!
