Thanks for the calculations! They confirm what i also thought, that the 4x6 barrel is right on it's limits. I have gone this far with the engine and it seems a shame to start cutting corners now. I am going to swap the 4x6 barrel for the 6x8 which will flow 970 cfm at 7psi. It just means a bit of clever pipe work but it can be done. I will post a pic once it's done. Cheers, Nick Well, yeah... Assuming a perfect system (HA!) Engine is 2849cc 4-stroke, meaning it draws half its capacity every revolution So 5000 x 2849 x 0.5 / 1000 = 7122.5 l/min (which according to www.onlineconversion.com) = 251.5 cf/min Now that's at a pressure of 1 bar (atmosphere) and you are talking about 7psi (14.7psi = 1bar) = 0.48bar of boost so that's 1.48 x 251 = 371 cfm at 7psi of boost (and what fantastic swapping of units I must admit!) - I'm not sure I'm right about the flow under boost but it seems to makes sense to me! I'd go bigger because the PRV can safely be revved to 6500rpm if the breathing's good.
