There's a distinct difference between repairing someone's alternator and repairing a part of the car designed and built to perform in a certain manner in an accident. And while the skydiver may not complain about their parachute opening, I am sure that one of their heirs might, in the form of an attorney knocking on your door. At the end of the day, I have to wonder why someone would cheap out on a safety related part?
