Hey Group, Any tips out there on removing the oil pan gasket easily? I have the engine on a stand with the pan off. The OEM gasket was a good one - it's made of felt and is 99% still on the crankcase. The gasket just comes off in little layered shreds. Do I just need hours of patience or is there a better way to remove it? I took the pan off just to see the inside out of curiosity and to get the pan cleaned and painted. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea. I definitely don't want to start scraping this thing with a gasket scraper and risk marring the mating surface. I am definitely not doing this twice!
