Re: [DML] Re: DeLorean radar detectors

Thank you very much for the information & your experiences on the radar
detectors for the DeLorean. The DeLorean that I saw in the DeLorean One
commercial had a full stealth front and rear remote radar detector...impressive &
clean installation. I meet the owner while on tour in South Carolina several
years ago. His name was Donald Smith. He was a film producer from Broadcast One
productions and drove his DMC all over the country. He said that detector was
the best that he had, I don't know if it was custom or something off the
shelf.

I have a Valentine One in each car, with concealed displays for my BMW's
from _http://www.stealth-one.com/_ (http://www.stealth-one.com/) ...they
display on the navigation screen. Any EE's want to design a radar system for the
DMC's similar to the BMW's?

My other car is a different story...as people can see the detector in the
window and there isn't any room to hide it above the sun visor etc. I've tested
Escort's newest version and it doesn't even have full POP. At $900 it's over
priced for the same performance of a Valentine One, and to boot, I was
pulled over for 115 mph in a 65 zone (Vascar)...almost went to the pokey on that
ride.

I understand your frustrations with women driving Expeditions on your bumper
@ 90 mph. Today it was raining here in Maryland. I saw a clueless woman
reading a book while driving 70 on the beltway, a "Minivan Mommy" driving and
yelling at her kids while they stuck their heads out of the window (as a dog
would do), and a Nascar dad with just about every Nascar sticker on his bumper,
doing 90 mph on the Wash Dc beltway.

Sincerely,
Mike Pack

I used to sell both Bell and Whistler radar detectors and when it
comes down to it, there is very little difference. The primary thing
to look for is one that covers the radar/laser bands used in your
area.

Other then appearance, buttons, talking, not talking, and different
sounding alerts, they're pretty much the same.

You don't need a ridiculously expensive detector.

Not for nothing, but people around these parts need to slow down. I
get lil women in Excursions up my butt doing 90+mph in the SLOW lane.
