Dave,
The RPM relay only powers the fuel pump. The frequency value runs
continuously as long as the ignition is turned on. The Lambda system has
it's own relay that has a metal case and is right next to the green module.
However, both systems are related in that they are both powered by the #7 fuse.
Should the RPM relay fail, it's best just to replace it as they aren't that
much. If you don't know how old it is or if it's original, simply replace
it now as preventative maintenance.
