Yes Frank, it is possible to switch to the power quarter antenna. You are then left with a plastic cover over the hole in the fender, or you get the stainless patched at someplace such as DMC Houston or FL, PJ Grady's, etc. My car has the fender-mounted antenna and personally I have no problem with its location there. I bought a stubby stainless antenna and it looks great.
