What you hear is probably the rear wheel bearing(s), one or both, slipping in the housing. It is a common DeLorean trait. The noise does not mean there is a bearing problem but a bad bearing can cause the noise frequency to increase a lot. The movement is very small but it is snapping from stop to stop in the housing and the noise is amplified. I have tried to put a small amount of synthetic gear oil around the inside of the bearing to lubricate the housing some and virtually stopped the noise. I have since tightened down the body-bolts in the engine compartment and replaced the TAB's with Toby's TAB's (Grrrr, seized bolts). However the clunking is still heard, primarily when rounding corners. What else could this be? Suspension bushings? Loose shocks? > > Thanks, > Todd Nelson > 1561, Vermont > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
