We'll we don't need to extract the orifice tube anymore. I had the bright
idea to drill up the middle and pull it out but went a little too far and
drilled into and through the evaporator pipe. Now we can just change the
evaporator. Ugh.

Go to your favorite auto parts store and ask for a "broken orifice tube
extractor". Someone had that problem before you and they actually designed a
tool for removing an orifice tube that is stuck or broken.
