It's a simple matter of someone not knowing what they were doing previously and you can see why. FOR THE RECORD Interior lights are wired with the PURPLE wire as the common wire. On original lights, this means the single pin at one end. On DMCH's, it's the connection onto the surround of the light. The other two (BLACK and WHITE/PURPLE) can go either way round depending on your preference to which way you want the light to face in which function.
