Mine did this too about two years ago (this fall).
One of those 24-year old hoses had rubbed a weakness. It was around
the point where they bend and begin the descent to run up the frame.
It was also about 100F that day.
Steve W. calmed me down when I called in the the problem, told me I
could drive it.
Order new hoses or have a local shop build them for you.
Now that it's exposed to the atmosphere you probably should do some of
the other components, and maybe even go to 134a.
