i am planning on getting an optima battery eventually, but no one had ever 
mentioned anything about the battery damaging the EQ? probably because most 
cars that they install on have the battery up front! i will do some legwork 
and determine if it will be a problem down the road. 

Price/location breakdown:
Alpine CD Deck - purchased locally about 2 years ago, i think it was about 
$300.
Ample Audio 5.25"'s in custom pods - purchased from DeLorean Motor Center, 
$200/pair.
Front Dash speakers - previous owner installed. <$80
Boston Acoustic RM6 6.5" - http://www.tmselectronics.com $185/pair.
Monitor-1 4.1 4x70watt RMS full range power amp - http://www.ampman.com $259
Monitor-1 MEQ-1 4 band paragraphic EQ - ampman.com $99
JL Audio 250/1 monoblock sub amp - http://www.woofersetc.com $210
Kicker S8L7 solo-baric DVC 4ohm sub - Site-on-Sound, Fargo, ND $220 special

Distribution Blocks by phoenix gold and fuse blocks - Northwest Audio, Fargo,

All power wiring, RCA's, speaker wire, etc was replaced by myself at a cost 
of about $250 total. mostly monster cable (those RCA's are pricey) or 
Stinger.
Total Labor on the install including carpet, wood, etc was $525 (Site On 
Sound, 14 hours of labor)
Real-Time Analysis and system setup - $125

grand total:
Labor $650
Parts ~$1863
Misc (shipping, grommets, etc) ~$100
Grand Total (Approx) = $2600

i think i need to install an alarm system next.
