Your A/C won't work.
Water pump is driven by alternator belt, so you won't kill the car.
But...
Bearings aren't expensive or difficult to replace. No joke -- they
cost less than an oil filter (probably the cheapest thing on these
little cars). Go ahead and buy a pair. You'll have them installed so
quickly that you will need to find some other activity to fill the
rest of your afternoon. I'm sure your vendor will walk you through the
process (I use a vise).
