If you have taken the binnacle off at any time this could have caused a
problem as well. If you don't get the electrical connection in the back
seated all the way you'll get a "wacky tach." When I hit a bump it would
spin around 360 degrees, stick in one position, or just not work at all. It
was not only wacky, but zany and a little kooky as well.
