Wet Driver Side Floor

The temp got to 70 here in northern Ohio today and I washed my car! 
problem is the driver side floor is wet but not the floor mat! I do 
notice a lot of water collecting around the gas cap everytime I wash 
the car, no draining there... does anyone no where this water on the 
driver side could be coming from?
