I guess that is interesting, but I'm not sure what the
word "whopping" adds to the message. Are you trying
to say that you are surprised by the increase or do
you feel that the increase cannot be justified by the
passage of time? Seriously, I'm curious.

I'm looking at a December 1981 Road & Track (the one
with the DeLorean article) and quote the following
prices Saab 900 @ $10,400; Volvo 242 @ $9785; Audi
4000 @ $9215. Increase any of those by 52% and offer
that to a dealer for a "comparable" new car and you
would be laughed out of the showroom.

Yes, I know that many of these parts are "old", but
the cost of physical storage is not cheap, there is
inventory tax and insurance to be paid every year, and
the basis of all commerce is supply and demand. All
in all, though I would long for 1982 prices, I think
the pricing on most DeLorean parts is reasonably
competitive with the parts for any other car, new or
old.
