No Cold Idle

 Hello all, 

I've got something that needs attention. When I first start my car for the day it will
not stay running while it's trying to idle. It's fine once it warms up a little. What should I take
a look at? I thought about the cold start valve but I wasn't sure if it just helped at startup or it 
was supposed to stay on until the car was warm. Any ideas would be appreciated.
