When I refinished my frame, I did not have it galvanized for two reasons: 1) The fear of frame warp 2) The need to clean out the holes and threads. I had it powder coated and it looks great. The first coat was a zinc rich epoxy rust inhibiting coat and the second was the color coat. Powder coating is tough and durable. You can powder coat springs and it will not flake off (supposedly). There are two kinds of powder coat, one is UV stabilized and one is not. IMHO, it is the best alternative to frame restoration. Nick Kemp
