Adding a CD Changer

I just bought a JVD CH-X350 12 disc changer for my car. The rep from
Crutuchfield said that it doesn't get it's power from the connection to
the stereo.....I'm not so sure BUT anyway, IF I need to hook up this
unit to the electrical system where would be the best place to grab the
power from and where should I ground it if it is located behind the
drivers seat?
