The real cost of a Delorean

I got to thinking...

If anyone knows approximately how much investment money was lost due to DMC
going out of business, then we could divide out how much money was lost per
vehicle made. This would be fun to know.

Then when someone asks me what my car is worth, I could tell them I don't
know, but it cost $$$$ bucks to make it. If this number is very high (and
I'm sure it is) then this would put the value of our cars in a different
perspective.

Do we have any mathematicians/trivia experts out there who wish to tackle
this?
