The next time you want to complain about parts prices, think Lotus.

I've been a DeLorean owner for several years now but recently I've been
thinking of upgrading (performance-wise, especially) to a Lotus Esprit.
Well, I've been doing some research on it and let me tell you...the prices
for Lotus parts make prices of DeLorean parts look like a pittance. For
example:

Wheel lug bolts $17 each
Suspension bushings $19 to $50 each
Spark plugs $27 each
Esprit (Renault) gearbox $16,000 (I just bought a NEW DeLorean
transmission for $3,000)
910 (4-cyl turbo) Engine $42,000

Man, that twin turbo or supercharging kit is starting to look pretty good,
actually.

So, next time you call Warren at DMC Houston and complain that the
*whatever* is too expensive, think about those poor Lotus owners out there.
The worst part is, they don't turn nearly as many heads as we do. ;)

P.S. And as for the person who asked if the Lotus V8 radiator would fit a
DeLorean, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU DO THAT?
