Hmmm. Depends where they are. When I was scouting the market for a D, I saw 
a few that were really nice, like new looking, except a few dings in the 
doors and hood. No problem, right? Well, it seems that some dings are 
easier than others.
And hood dings can be impossible.

Hoods are tough. I was given an 1981 hood with a ding about the size of a 
baseball. Indeed that is what hit it at the Baltimore Orioles Park at Camden 
Yard.
A plumber came and worked out the dent. I video taped what he did. Very labor 
intensive and time consuming. No telling there was a dent. But buying a new 
hood is in the extreme case of a crease or severe accident damage. IF YOUR 
SERIOUS take a photo and send it to a reputable DMC or Stainless steel artist 
in the Hemming Motor News.
