That opinion holds up well... but only if you live in North America.

In Australia, and other countries in the same situation, you'd be very 
lucky to find a DeLorean under $30,000 USD. DeLoreans here can demand up to 
$60,000 USD, no matter what the condition of the vehicle, simply because 
they're so rare here. And people who want a DeLorean would be willing to 
pay that much, because with the current exchange rates and high import 
taxes, it's even more expensive to import one from the UK or USA.

At the moment, the highest-priced DMC-12 on the market in Australia is at 
$60,200 USD ($98,000 AUD). IMO this is asking way too much for a DeLorean, 
even in a country where they are rare. This particular car has been on the 
market for nearly two years (as far as I know), and the seller hasn't 
budged on the price at all.

But there are exceptions. Currently there's a DeLorean in Melbourne selling 
for $15,000 USD (I believe the owner is on this mailing list). And there's 
also a DeLorean in New Zealand selling for $9,000 USD!

But I agree with you Mike. In a country with a large DeLorean population, 
such as the United States, you'd be stretching it to ask more than $25k for 
your DeLorean.
