Dear
List,
Does any one know what the original door struts look like. Mine are Lift-O-Mats that were made in Mexico (I find it hard to believe that Mexican made struts were factory installed in 1981). Are these the ones that came on the car or has this been my t-top problem all the time. Also does any one have a measurement on these units, how long they are. jim vin #4149 I was also researching these lift-o-mat struts
awhile back, I had them on my car when I purchased it. Until one day the
driver side strut lost its gas. I decided to just purchase new struts from
PJ Grady. And I'm glad I did. They totally out perform the
lift-o-mats.
PJ Gradys struts seem to be a little longer in
length than my old struts, sorry don't know how much longer.
And Stabilus, who makes the lift-o-mat struts is aGerman
company with 7 other locations around the world including Mexico.
I also had a problem with one of my doors hitting the t-panel,
I adjusted the height by loosening the panel screws. Problem
solved.
