Dave, don't top off your gas tank. This is nothing new with DeLoreans. The fuel
spill is probably coming from the fuel pump boot. I had a similar problem and
removed the fuel pump and applied a petroleum/heat resistant silicone sealant
around the lip of the gas tank. Still, I never top off the tank. This was two
years ago, and so far no fumes. Hope you don't have a gas (open flame) water
heater in your garage! I'm glad I don't.
The cooling fans run constantly when the A/C is turned on and the loud stock
relay is a loud clicker. I hear "Fanzilla" is pretty good. Supposedly, it turns
one fan on at a time to avoid the sudden voltage surge you normally get with the
stock relay.
