[DML] Weird interior door wiring question...

Hi, I was hooking up the door light wires up for the first time since
I've had my D and a weird thing happened. I hooked the top set of wires
up (this is all on the drivers side), and the door lights came on (like
they should), then I hooked up the bottom set, and a buzzing sound came
on, it was on constant, with the car on and off, I'm sure it is a
door-ajar buzzer, because when the door is closed, it stops. Is it
supposed to do this? I would understand if it only did it when the car
was on, and the doors were open or something. Oh yeah, my door ajar
light doesn't work either.
