Funny how there's such an interest in putting big honkin' engines in Ds. 
When JZD was mulling the concept of the ethical sports car, OPEC threatened 
to cut off the world's gas supply, gas prices were going up so fast there 
seemed no upper limit, and the gov't was threatening ever higher mileage 
requirements. A sports car with good milege was a great concept! By the 
time the D actually came out, gas prices had pretty much stabilized and 
OPEC's price fixing had started to fall apart. The gov't DID raise mileage 
requirements. But of course, there would never be a return to huge vehicles, 
with oversized gas hog engines, like in the 50's, would there? :) 
Who would've guessed SUV's with mileage worse than dumptrucks would be all 
the rage 20 years later! Not a criticism of those who want MORE POWER...
