When JZD abruptly called off plans for the production facility to be built in Puerto Rico and relocated to Belfast, Ireland, a new subsidiary to New York's "DeLorean Motor Company" was created. It was called "DeLorean Motor Cars, Limited" or "DMCL". The words "DeLorean Motor Cars, Ltd." appeared on the operations building in Belfast and "DMCL" showed up in some of the original literature and correspondence. As I understand it, JZD originally organized under the name of "John Z. DeLorean Corporation". There were others, CTC (Composite Technology Corporation), DSCP (DeLorean Sports Car Partnership, DRLP (DeLorean Research Limited Partnership) also known as OPCO (Oppenhimer and Company), and the little known Swiss company, GPD (General Products Development). Regards, Ed Thompson (#6419 since 1982) > I *think* DMC stands for DeLorean Motor Company. I'm not sure > on that though - in the popular sales brochure it's always "DeLorean Motor > Company" in the text, yet there is a picture of an office with a "DeLorean > Motor Cars, Ltd" sign on the wall. > > Any thoughts, people? > > Tris
