[DML] Volvo engine -- yea or nea?

I have a chance to pick up a "spare" Volvo V6 out of a 1983 760 GLE for
$150. The owner claims the engine is "the 174 HP version". Anyone have
any idea how this engine differs from the D's PRV V6? I plan to use it
as an interim engine / parts engine until I put together the twin-turbo
motor that came with my D.

I don't know where he got that HP figure, but 174 would be an odd number
for someone to make up...

Any help from someone experienced with the Volvo end of things would be
appreciated
