[DML] Installing rubberpad on clutch pedal - glue or no glue?

When you install a new rubberpad on the pedals (clutch) - Are you supposed to just "hang it on" to the pedal or is it better to glue it on the pedal? If so, what is the recommended glue? Please advise.
