The 8583 number could be correct and probably is. It's fairly common
knowledge that all consecutive VIN numbers were not used. Many were
skipped for reasons I'm not aware of. Perhaps someone else on the DML 
may know why some VIN numbers were skipped and what some of those 
numbers are. Ken? James?
