[DML] Re: Dyno Testing Day

dynomometer testing tests the power output of an engine. This is down
either with the engine on a test stand (you see this in Hot Rod or Car
Craft Magazines) or at the wheels output.

The car drive wheels are put onto a large drum that is geared to a water
wheel in a large tank. As the wheels turns they generate heat in the
water by friction which is a measure of the horsepower output of the
car.

This is the first test of deloreans that actually will measure the
output of car at the wheels. This is the best measure to compare
performance. Lastly, year we tested a stock 5 speed. It put out 100 HP
and 134 ft lb torque at the wheels. Note: a highly tuned big block
camaro was tested last year with 398 HP and 400 fl lb torque at the
wheels.

Hope to see you there.

Bob
