Scott, if you are describing the symptoms accurately, you have FAR
more serious problems than flat spots or a separating belt. Sounds
more like a broken or loose wheel or a broken axle, and certainly
unsafe to drive. (Did you check for a flat tire?)

Shaking "violently" and a feeling of "going across an endless road 
of speed bumps" to me would indicate a VERY serious problem that merits
IMMEDIATE attention. Please do NOT drive the car until you can get it
checked out! Don't even attempt to drive it to a repair shop.
