This "tinny sound" occurs in my car as well. I kinda think it sounds like a 
ticking of a lawn mower. I know what the problem is in my D, the exhaust 
gaskets need replacing. From what I understand, this is a common problem 
with cars that have sat a long time. Maybe this is your problem too. Good
