Actually, I was thinking of the scene at the end of the first movie
where Marty is driving down that straight line of road towards the wire
attached to the clocktower. You would think that a De Lorean would
reach 88 faster than it did then, especially since the accelerator was
totally floored and the stretch of road he had to drive wasn't that
long. Again, I'm sure that this sluggishness was because it was
supposed to be a suspensful moment, but still...
