[DML] Re: cross reference

J,
We used to maintain a crossover list but found two big problems.

1. Many items that appear to be crossovers are not.
Example: An owner requested we service his DeLorean to correct a "no hot
start condition" we discovered that the fuel pump he purchased from a local
parts store did not have a check valve which is required in the DeLorean.
As an electrical part he could not return the pump to the parts store; $145
down the drain.

2. DeLorean owners are extremely fortunate to have one of the best parts
networks of any limited production vehicle. Our philosophy is: purchase all
of your parts from DeLorean part suppliers. Sure, in some cases you may pay
a few bucks more, but you will be helping to keep the parts network
alive. At the same time you will be sure of getting the exact replacement
part with service support included.

Yes; buy your oil filters and light bulbs from Pep Boys and Auto Zone, but
that's it ! SUPPORT YOU DELOREAN PARTS SUPPLIER.
