Somehow earlier in this thread the discussion changed from the suspension
torsion bars to the torsion bars in the doors or the other way around.

The suspension torsion bars are not stainless steel, they will rust, and
I suppose they could be turned on a lathe for cleaning. The door torsion
bars are an entirely different animal. Let's all get on the same page here
so that the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. Or perhaps the
moderators should just close out this thread.
