The current price for R-12 here in North Carolina is about $40.00 a pound. I
paid $120.00 for a recharge, but this did include the check for leaks and to
put a dye in the system so that we could see if there were any small leaks
in the system.

The dye can be seen with a ultra violet light. After the dye was placed in
the system I operated the car for a few weeks and then they went over all
the AC components with the light. If there is a leak they dye will show up
with the light.
