[DML] altenator replacement...

I think I need to replace my alternator. I need more power to run the amp for my stereo. I keep seeing the voltage meter on the car drop when the lights are on and I'm idling. Do I need to get a higher output alternator? If I do, which one should I get? What fits? What amperage should I replace it with? Can someone help me please? ---Dan
