I was going to mention the tyres but figured this was something you would 
have been told before.
I had a real uneaven and bumby ride untill I bought a new set of tyres all 
round ,the dealer explained that tyres of that age (regardless of wear) have 
more likley lost the oil from the rubber making them very hard in some places 
. I now have a very quiet ride but am no longer on the original rubber 
(shame) .The tyre depot could have just fleeced me for new tyres though so if 
anyone else has been told this I would be interested to hear about it
