Originally, I was planning on smuggling small LEDs right behind the needles, cutting tiny holes in the EL panels if needed... I've decided against this messy approach since I found something else reliable. I'm going to replace the frontlighting with UV LEDs. (I've already hooked *one* of them up to a power supply to see how they illuminate the orange translucent dials.... freakin' bright!) So, I'll be frontlit with blacklight, and the orange dials will glow pretty well and with higher contrast than the stock situation I have now, it seems. The look is almost exactly what I want, but I thought yellow or white would look nicer with the blue EL, and I've seen toys and acryllic boxes, etc... of those colors that do respond well to UV. --Greg #2894 To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
