Samuel,
If the pulse coil wasn't working it wouldn't turn on the fuel pump and the
tack wouldn't work and the ignition coil spark would be non existence. 500
+/- 5% is normal cold and 700+/- 5% is correct hot. So you are correct.
If you have any blockage in the return line back to the tank the fuel
pressure will rise and the control plunger in the fuel distributor wouldn't
rise high enough to feed the injectors and you would be running lean if at
all.

Wouldn't a flaky pick-up coil cause the engine to die after warming up?
I've had it running for at least an hour at times with no issues.
I know my pulse coil measures 700ohms when the engine is hot so I do not
believe that is bad either (someone correct me if i'm wrong). Another
thing is where am I likely to have my restrictions for the return fuel?
I believe having the extra-high pressure in the fuel system is due to
not having enough flow back to the tank, and I know it is someplace
before the accumulator (as the volume there is low for the return).
I'm unable to test whether the injectors are opening during cranking
when warm today, nor the spark. May be able to test tomorrow evening (if
Florida doesn't decide to rain on me).
