[DML] tachometer

My tachometer isn´t working, it´s stuck on 8000 rpm.
Is there any way of testing if it´s a tach issue or a wire issue.
I dont wanna buy a new tachometer just to find out it´s a bad cable.
I´ve asked this before but I´ll try again.
