[DML] Re: Does Lack Of Smog Pump/ EGR Cause Long Term Damage To DeLo Converter?

DeLo is the only catalytic converter equipped car (circa 1980) I've
encountered without a smog pump, thus my question -- especially
considering Volvo was using one on the exact same engine.
Our little silver cars *DO* have design flaws (TAB's, cooling fan and
door lock circuitry, lower control arms, etc), so a flaw in the
exhaust system isn't unimaginable.
And most DeLo's have abnormally low mileage, so some design flaws are
only now becoming apparent.
I lost my converter, but I am also running an E series engine which
may have been too rich for the design.
