I t would be fun to try to piece together the identities of as many of
the workers as possible from the "cave art". The driver's door of my
November, 1981 build is signed by a "Bert". I wonder if he was the "B
Atkinson" referred to below.

My shifting has become difficult and I can only find 5th gear every so
often. There is no grinding in the transmission and I have brand new
master
and slave clutch cylinders. This leads me to believe that the shift cable
needs to be shortened since I cannot get far enough to the right to fifth
gear.

Does this sound correct or am I way off base here?

Has anybody tried this pipe to replace the cat on their DeLorean? I
was wondering if it really gives a 10 hp increase, and if this can
actually be felt. In case you haven't seen it, here is the link:
http://www.dmc-service.nl/Uk/Index_Uk.htm

A 10 hp increase for $90 in our car, would be a great addition.
Please let me know if anyone has experience with this. Thanks.

I haven't a clue what the other numbers mean.
I wish I did.
I also have:
the initials CH,
a 40 circled,
a ten digit number written in two colors,
A faint upside down 20 circled,
and the notation 6/12 which is not a date (which is written in full under
the top side panel, 4-10-81 J G).

There aren't really any original DeLorean parts in the engine bay besides
the
air filter housing and a couple other odds and ends. the price of the
parts
from the vendors is more or less the same price that the parts cost from a

Volvo source or wherever you want to get your 'cheaper' stuff from. for
the
most part, these parts are harder to get locally than they are over the
phone
with Grady or DMCJoe or whoever you choose. a lot of the engine control
stuff isn't as common as you'd think. Not only that but NOT all parts are

created equal. the fuel distributer is quite unique to the DeLorean, and
the
pin in it makes a matched set. do not count on crossovers because
sometimes
they work, sometimes they definitely do not!

Does anyone have a picture of their resistance box in the engine
compartment. It's part number 101054 found in section 3 subsection 4
group 1. If anyone has a picture of this part could you please send it to
me, I want to compare what is hooked up in my car versus what it is
suppose to be.

Thanks
