The driver's door of my November, 1981 build is signed by a "Bert". I wonder if he was the "B Atkinson" referred to below. There is no grinding in the transmission and I have brand new master and slave clutch cylinders. This leads me to believe that the shift cable needs to be shortened since I cannot get far enough to the right to fifth gear. Does this sound correct or am I way off base here? ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 3 Date: Tue, 22 Oct 2002 16:37:27 -0400 From: Travis Goodwin <tgoodwin@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: DeLorean Stock Certificate for sale A little pricey, but interesting nonetheless http://store.yahoo.com/scripophily/delmotcom.html ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 4 Date: Tue, 22 Oct 2002 23:21:13 -0000 From: "Chris " <dursman@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: DMC Service Cat Replacement? Has anybody tried this pipe to replace the cat on their DeLorean? I was wondering if it really gives a 10 hp increase, and if this can actually be felt. In case you haven't seen it, here is the link: http://www.dmc-service.nl/Uk/Index_Uk.htm A 10 hp increase for $90 in our car, would be a great addition. Please let me know if anyone has experience with this. Thanks. -chris- ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 Date: Tue, 22 Oct 2002 20:25:53 -0500 From: "K Creason" <dmc4687@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: RE: Difference between one-key, two-key I haven't a clue what the other numbers mean. I wish I did. I also have: the initials CH, a 40 circled, a ten digit number written in two colors, A faint upside down 20 circled, and the notation 6/12 which is not a date (which is written in full under the top side panel, 4-10-81 J G). -----Original Message----- > From: Vin 5386 [mailto:delorean_stainless@xxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Monday, October 21, 2002 3:38 PM > To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: RE: [DML] Difference between one-key, two-key > > > That is what I'm thinking too. There aren't really any original DeLorean parts in the engine bay besides the air filter housing and a couple other odds and ends. the price of the parts from the vendors is more or less the same price that the parts cost from a Volvo source or wherever you want to get your 'cheaper' stuff from. for the most part, these parts are harder to get locally than they are over the phone with Grady or DMCJoe or whoever you choose. a lot of the engine control stuff isn't as common as you'd think. Not only that but NOT all parts are created equal. the fuel distributer is quite unique to the DeLorean, and the pin in it makes a matched set. do not count on crossovers because sometimes they work, sometimes they definitely do not! It's part number 101054 found in section 3 subsection 4 group 1. If anyone has a picture of this part could you please send it to me, I want to compare what is hooked up in my car versus what it is suppose to be.
