It's been a while since I've made and update. This update includes:

1. The finished section behind the seat
2. The boxes that sit on the T-panel
3. How to attach the pipe brackets

I hope to have pictures of the pipes for tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Subject: DeLorean Car Show IMPORTANT NEW AND EXCITING

HI

Its been a while and a lot of things have changed in the World of DeLoreans.
The Delorean Car Show took a whole new turn in Memphis as we had many of the Custom DeLoreans at the show in addition to the Daily Drivers and Concours cars.

Many of you on this list never got to go to the show and many more of you
wanted more details than just pictures on a web page can do.

The time has come I believe to fill a gap in coverage of our cars by
introducing to you

the  "DELOREAN CAR SHOW MAGAZINE"

This magazine will be produced by DeLorean Car Show Inc. and cover Car Shows
and events.  The main focus is the DeLorean Car Show and the events that lead
up to it.

The entire DeLorean Community is going in different directions and I believe
that the average DeLorean owner wants a magazine that deals with the fun
aspects of the cars.

This magazine will feature in its first issue The Memphis Show with many of
the cars seen at the show and it will also give you a bit of insight on the
Pigeon Forge Show that seems to be growing at a faster rate than Memphis.  In
addition we will have an article from George Crane who spoke at the Memphis show on Friday night.  He was the former DMC Factory worker that I have had many

requests to bring back for Pigeon Forge.

I am asking at this point for DML members to submit articles that relate to the Memphis Show. What I wish to do now and in the future is to have anyone at the show send me a picture of themselves and their car, and if you didn't have a car yourselves, then with a car and a brief description of who you are and where you are from.  I will publish these in each issue.

If you did not attend but wish to show us your car, please do so as well.

This is your magazine and you are what makes this car interesting,

I would also like each of the 11 or 12 Delorean groups I count around the country to write an article about your group.  The shows you did the past year (yes with pictures) and what you plan to do in the future leading up to Pigeon Forge.

Advertising Space will be available for ALL the vendors and is available now.

The magazine will heavily feature the Cars and the People of the show and
will act more as a doucmentary and a view of upcoming shows.  As of now I
plan one issue a year but that can change depending on my advertising needs.

We will accept written articles, Photos, or electronic files and pictures.
Electronic pictures should be 2.1 megapixel or greater and 600dpi or above is
preferred.  MS word is preferred but we can take many other forms of
documents.
We prefer written text to be sent electronically.

We will work with this as we go along to see how well these files turn out.

Remember this is your magazine and if we all work together we can have a fun
time doing it and we can properly document the greatest Delorean Owners and
Enthusiasts of all time for generations to come.

This magazine will be like no other - you have my promise !!!
(That could be good or bad LOL)

More Details will follow and the web page will be updated soon.

The cost and release date have been determined but it will not be announced
until I see how much material we recieve probably in mid to late November.

So please send in your pictures and articles to:

DeLorean Car Show Inc.
C/O DeLorean Car Show Magazine
4500 Woodland Dr
Mason, Oh 45040

Address is also on the web page at
http://deloreancarshow.com

Thanks,
   Ken Koncelik

before you do any work on this, get a "letter of intent" from this
dealer you are talking with. It will only help later if there are
any problems.

I can only assume that the 120BHP was because it was a "new " car that had
sat around for 20 years. Has anyone else tested a stock, very low miles car?

Hello Chris!

I'm a little confused, I thought a stock Delorean had approx. 135 hp?

Is there a difference between hp and bhp? Or what else is the reason for
this difference?

No the engine was not removed!  It was all done on a normal rolling road, I
don't know the intricacies of how it was all calculated. I think the 20 %
increase is the interesting bit.

Regarding noise, at 3000 revs at 6 foot from the car the decibel level was
100, at 5000 revs it was 106 decibels.  That is the medium system.  No I'm
not into computers sufficiently to record it!

The loud system needed ear protectors at 5000 revs!!

At the flywheel hp?
Did you actually remove the engine from a car and hook it to a dyno?

Or, Was this done on a wheel(chassis)dyno and corrected for
drivetrain losses? Can you be more specific?

Please define Medium loud as opposed to the standard American exhaust
sound? Is there any chance of downloading sound clip of the system
running at idle and revved up?

Hello,

I am the new owner of 6530

The drivers side window worked a few times, then the felt fell out, then it
wouldn't go up all the way.? It seems that the front plastic guide has come
off the track.? Is there any info out there on how to get it back?

Also is there info on how to adjust the lock linkages?

Thank you,

Dave

There is an open house in Houston on May 9-10-11 and beyond that I don't
think there is anything else.

My show is in 2004 so it looks at least from the major shows you should be
clear
If I can I would like to attend
I like Canada

I bought vin 16367 from Carson in August, 00 and have continued to have much fun with it since then.  (No Carson, you can't have it back!)  To tie in with the recent questions from prospective buyers, even though this car was in very good shape and was regularly driven, I have poured quite a bit of money into it since I bought it.  This should not be taken as criticism of Carson's maintenance of the car - much of it is simply the result of the passage of time.  For example, my car is currently at Don's in Garden Grove, waiting for me to pick it up on Saturday.  My a/c had been working fine, but became noticeably less effective as the summer wore on.  I figured it was just in need of a recharge, but on checking, it turned out that the a/c hoses were starting to fail from age.  So now I have new hoses and they should hopefully hold up for another couple of decades.  This is the kind of thing that people were talking about when they said that you will need a cash reserve with this car.

Hi Dennis

I did not conduct the tests. They were done by Mark Bourne, DOC tech advisor. They were
conducted on a rolling road and all the figures were extrapolated from the "at the wheel"
figure. I can't comment on how, but I'm sure this place knows what they're doing.

I have a large change in the web page on the exhaust to upload, but as of this afternoon
the site was down because my ISP was having problems. I will be uploading it tomorrow,
and you'll have Mark's original text on the tests.

I would love to record the sound of the new exhaust - I will try but don't hold your
breath. I know the fully loud system is louder than with no silencer at all (!) - the
medium system is "racey" rather than the burbling of, say, the Island silencers. Or you
could have one with the same note as the stock system, but properly baffled (ie
free-flowing)

Subject: Re: ATTN: Payne -- what's the news?

Thank you for taking an interest in my problem!  The reason I haven't posted
any update is because I'm still waiting for a part.  I have got the new
gaskets for the "W" pipe and am replacing some vacuum lines.  I still need
the idle speed motor connector but I've already talked to John Hervey at
specialtauto.com and it's on it's way.  It's just a matter of waiting.

I just have one question that someone may be able to clear up.  Right now
the car has very little power below approximately 3,000 RPM.  As soon as it
gains in engine speed, she feels like her old self again.  I thought I had
the vacuum leak fixed, but is this even characteristic of a vacuum leak?

I miss driving her every day.  Even after over a year and a half of
ownership, ever day I'm not driving it I wish I were.  She's not perfect,
but I'll get her there someday.

Thanks again!  Further bulletins as events warrant.

To save bandwidth, could you restate your eMail as delorean "AT"
whatever? (so people can respond direct rather than thru list).

Some of us read the list thru Yahoo, and they truncate eMail addresses.

Subject: Re: JZD at foliage tour?

Regarding John DeLorean at this years Fall Tour.
All I can say right now is that JZD is in the area. Someone will be
meeting with him on Friday and I have asked that person to see if he
can get Mr. John DeLorean to join us at some point.

Please note a few facts.
1. Because the former DeLorean property has been sold to Donald
Trump, this will probably be the last time the DeLorean photo
opportunity at the mansion will ever happen
2. John DeLorean is supposed to be in the area of the tour this
   weekend
3. Assuming I have previously arranged to have John at this tour,
part of that agreement would be that I keep it quiet so that
   it does
not become a mob scene. This would benefit the people who had
planned to be at a DeLorean event for the sake of a DeLorean car
show and not just people trying to get John to sign something for
   them.
4. If John DeLorean shows up at some point on this tour, I think it
is unlikely that he will be with us for the whole two days to say
the least (he can use one of my radios set to channel 3 if he
wants to join the caravan:) and more likely a relatively short
   amount of time.
This time some of you may have noticed that I have not been
promoting this event as much as I did in the past to keep things
to a manageable size.  Looks like we could have 20 DeLoreans
   based  on e-mails BTW.
5. Lets face it, if I did have John show up as a surprise guest, it
would not only be a history making event in the DeLorean world but
Future DeLorean Fall Foliage Tours would certainly take on major
event status from this point on.

So to answer the question all I can say is that the 3rd Annual
DeLorean Fall Foliage Tour has the best chance of having John show up
out of any of the past Fall Tours. I am not saying John DeLorean will
be there or not, but this time it is a possibility.

Come to the tour to enjoy the cars and the people, if you get to meet
JZD that's just a bonus.
If you only want to come out to meet the man stay home and let the
real DeLorean enthusiasts meet him if he shows.

Regards,

Mike D.
