Ed, The wide stripe was a dealer option. I have not heard of it adding any value to the car. There are not too many NOS stripes left, but a number of people have remade them. Even if there was a specific desire for the stripe, they can be had (remade) so I don't think it would be considered anything special. There are lots of things to look for when buying a DeLorean. The #1 thing to be aware of is the condition of the frame. The epoxy coating can hide rust, so you need to get under the car and poke around. Best way to educate yourself is to look at lots of cars, and spend time with your local club and on this mailing list. It looks like you are from the Pennsylvania area? We are having a huge DMA event this Saturday (April 21). There will be lots of DeLoreans there, and even more people you can learn from. http://www.deloreanmidatlantic.com/events/social07.htm Marc --- Ed Wenger <wewenger@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I am looking at purchasing an 81 DeLorean in what is > described as very > good original condition, about 30k miles, garaged > all its life.
